The Waccamaw Siouan Tribe is located 40 miles north of Wilmington, NC.  We currently have a tribal enrollment of around 2,200 members.    There are three tribal communities within Columbus County that makes up the tribe.  The Buckhead community, the St. James community and the Chadbourn Community.  Members of our tribe include all aspects of the medical profession, law enforcement, construction, education and homemakers. We are the Waccamaw Indians, and we speak the "Siouan" language. 

We have a  council that makes up the governing body of the tribe.
